Born to Donny and Patricia O’Connor, Aideen and her brother Malcolm were raised in the house of a Boss in the Irish Mob. Despite the illegal nature of their father’s business, they were well-loved and family was extremely important to them.
Aideen was the family princess, and her father doted on her every whim. Her brother idolized their father and constantly sought to follow in his footsteps.
Donny O’Connor was good at his job, and the family was very wealthy. Donny meticulously saved and invested for his family, and when he was gunned down in a police raid, his wife and children fled to Canada where they live on the vast fortune he set up for them before he died.

Now, Aideen lives in Vancouver with the remnants of her family – a shadow of what it once was. Her mother is an addict and alcoholic – consuming wine and xanax in equal measure to keep her sorrow from losing her true love at bay. Her brother – angry at his mother’s descent into addiction – tries to do the right thing and take care of his kid sister and, even his mother, despite his hatred for the pathetic woman.
Aideen herself refuses to take any money from her family, despite having a trust fund with enough to live comfortably for the rest of her days, and has thrown herself into rebellion and anarchism. Her anger at her dead father has driven her to be crass, vulgar, rude and bitchy, to hide the wounds on her heart that still have not healed.
